Meet the experts guiding your data transformation journey
Steve joined FDL in 2018 as a Director in the business. He has held senior consulting positions with KPMG internationally, KPMG Consulting in New Zealand, BearingPoint, IBM and Tenzing. Steve has hands on experience establishing and managing high performing technical teams.
Steve's early career started as a developer in a large private healthcare insurance company where he remained for 10 years assuming the overall management of the development team. He later set up and managed one of the first insurance data warehouse teams. Steve then joined KPMG in the specialist Data Integration team (which is today the KPMG Data, Analytics and Modelling team).
Steve has over 25 years of Development, Data Warehouse and Data Migration experience on numerous high profile local and international projects. Steve maintains his technical skills and has a reputation for tackling (and delivering) difficult projects.
Ito joined FDL in 2022 as a Director in the business. He is an experienced IT professional with over 25 years consulting experience spanning FDL, Tenzing, BearingPoint, KPMG Consulting UK, KPMG Consulting NZ and KPMG NZ.
Ito has practical experience of large-scale system implementations and the development of innovative business solutions including the delivery of information services ranging from Data, Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse strategies, Data Warehouse & Digital Content Management implementations, Data & Content Quality solutions, Business Intelligence & reporting solutions, Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data & Digital Content Migration.
Prior to joining FDL Ito lead 50+ consultants in the Information Services team, a responsibility that covered Data Science and Analytics, Digital Content Services, Data Modernisation Services.
Mark joined FDL as a Principal Consultant in the data practice, with a career spanning data warehousing, solution architecture, data modelling, and governance across health, finance, government, and telecommunications.
He has held senior roles at Tenzing NZ, Southern Cross Health Insurance, and Soltius. Notable engagements include large-scale programmes with the Ministry of Social Development, One NZ, and Southern Cross Health Insurance — where he led Data Lake implementation, data quality and governance, and Customer 360 architecture. At FDL, he has led the design and build of a global financial data warehouse for MondialeVGL.
Mark holds a BA from Victoria University of Wellington, a Statistics qualification from Massey University, and is Snowflake SnowPro certified. He combines strong technical depth with clear stakeholder communication and practical team leadership. He has interests outside of work with sailing, boating and mountain bike riding.
Peter joined FDL as a Principal Consultant and is a senior member of the FDL management team. He actively manages FDL's Microsoft alliance and certification program and is a key member of the Snowflake alliance team. Peter has held lead architectural roles across a wide range of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing projects spanning many industry sectors.
Peter's early career covered broad software and application development across Java, .NET and related technologies, working with organisations such as Fonterra, Vodafone, and the Microsoft Innovation Centre. He later moved into data warehousing and business intelligence, delivering solutions for clients including Carter Holt Harvey, Westfield, NZ Post, and Sanford. More recently, Peter has become a specialist in modern cloud data platforms, leading Snowflake and dbt implementations for clients including AA Smartfuel, Te Whatu Ora, Construction Information Ltd, and MondialeVGL.
Peter holds a Master of Science with first class honours in Computer Science from the University of Auckland and is Snowflake SnowPro certified. He has over 25 years of experience delivering complex data solutions and is known for his ability to adapt and deliver across any technical environment.
Vidit Chaurasia is a Principal Consultant in Data Science, Optimisation & AI at FDL, with over 13 years of global consulting experience across FDL, Tenzing, and Accenture.
He advises organisations on embedding AI into core business operations, with expertise spanning decision intelligence, optimisation, GenAI, and modern application development across cloud, mobile, edge, and decentralised architectures. Vidit specialises in scaling AI from experimentation to enterprise capability, delivering production-grade solutions supported by robust governance, model risk management, and human-in-the-loop controls.
He has led complex data, AI, and digital application initiatives across telecommunications, insurance, and energy sectors, with a focus on real-time decisioning, scalable platforms, and responsible AI adoption at scale.
